18 Jun ASPA HONORS HONEY SHINE, INC. AS NON-PROFIT OF THE YEAR
Miami, FL— On Thursday, June 11, 2015 the South Florida Chapter of the American Society for Public Administration (ASPA), recognized Honey Shine, Inc. as the 2015 Non-Profit of the Year during its Annual Awards Reception at Jungle Island.
Honey Shine’s Executive Director, Marla Wilson, accepted the award on behalf of the organization. Dedicated to the growth and connectivity of those in public service, ASPA recognized Honey Shine as a viable force in the community for their work with girls. Among the Award Recipients were the Honorable Jean Monestime, Chairman of the Miami-Dade County Board of County Commissioners, who was recognized as the Elected Official of the Year. Awards were also given to City of Miami Manager Daniel J. Alfonso as the Public Administrator of the Year, and Dr. Olivia Jackson as the Educator of the Year.
The Society is the professional home for more than 8,000 practitioners, teachers and students with the South Florida Chapter consisting of over 200 members and growing.
