Zo’s second annual Winter Groove offers something for everyone

Alonzo Mourning’s contributions to South Florida extend far beyond his hall of fame caliber play on the basketball court as a member of the Miami Heat. The seven-time NBA All-star, who was deservedly installed into the NBA Hall of Fame in 2014, has taken giving back to the community to a whole new level. Through Alonzo Mourning Charities, Zo and his wife, Tracy, have, since 1997, connected with boys and girls in impoverished areas of South Florida and provided services designed to help them reach their full potential. Miami Foundation’s Matthew Beatty Joins Honey Shine Board of Directors

Miami, FL– Honey Shine is delighted to announce that Matthew Beatty, Director Matthew-Beatty-headshot-WEBof Communications with the Miami Foundation has joined the organization’s Board of Directors. Matthew Beatty leads and manages the Foundation’s communications strategies and ensures all efforts are integrated and reflect the organization’s message.  He also grows relationships throughout the community that increase the Foundation’s brand awareness.  A native of Miami, Matthew attended The Cushman School, where he now serves on the board of trustees, Ransom Everglades School and earned his B.S. in management and M.B.A. in marketing at Florida A&M University. His public relations career includes managing outreach for Baptist Health South Florida, Port Miami Tunnel, National Environmental Education Foundation and numerous other organizations across the U.S.

Matthew has presented seminars at Miami Dade College and Florida Memorial University, speaks on panels regarding marketing strategy, and was named one of South Florida’s 40 Under 40 Black Leaders of Tomorrow by Legacy magazine of The Miami Herald. He was also selected to Class V of Connect Florida’s 2014-2015 Statewide Leadership Institute, the premier statewide resource for educating, engaging and inspiring Florida’s top emerging leaders.
