Annual Hats Off Luncheon to benefit Honey Shine Inc.

As one of Miami’s premiere events of the social season since 2003, Honey Shine’s “Hats Off Luncheon” on Wednesday, May 6, at the Hilton Miami Downtown, 1601 Biscayne Blvd., allows its “Honey Bugs,” through poetry and dance, to showcase the influence the organization has had in their lives. The event starts at 11 a.m. with a silent auction followed by the luncheon at 12:30 p.m.

Honey Shine is dedicated to enriching the lives of young girls, ages 8-18 living in at-risk situations, by creating a positive learning environment where girls and mentors come together to discuss and learn from important issues and challenges that the girls face on a regular basis.

Proceeds from the event allow Honey Shine Inc. to continue enriching the lives of Honey Bugs by supporting workshops, field trips and Camp Honey Shine, a six week summer day camp that takes place at Carrollton School of the Sacred Heart in Coconut Grove.

Participating will be Tracy Wilson Mourning, Honey Shine Inc. founder and philanthropist; Thelma Gibson, honoree, for her decades of ground breaking service, especially in the realm of women’s right in South Florida; MC Lyte, emcee and nationally celebrated deejay, and Kalyn James, host, Artloft.
Price is $150 for general admission and $300 for VIP (which includes a special invite to the Patron Party).
